Throwback to yesterday when it was my birthday (go me!) but I officially turned into a teenager? That feels like a fever dream to say since I remember running around Color Me Mine eating Doritos on my sixth birthday, or me having the best Sofia the First and Frozen (I had Frozen balloons, but the cake decorators could only make Sofia the First) birthday bash when I turned seven. A lot has been going on since school started, with new friends, new teachers, and a new personality.
The big 2025 is going to turn into the big 2026 in about two months, and that seems sad to say, but thank god we’re moving on from Italian brainrot and 6-7 (who said that?) All jokes aside, there are some new achievements that I have accomplished like being a student ambassador, or being a peer tutor. I may not be Einstein, but hey, I’ve officially leveled up.

I had to explain to my mom what 6-7 meant today…
My school started in mid-August, meaning that I’ve known my classmates and teachers for 3 months now, and I was super scared to go into a new class. Luckily I had my best friend for 11 years there with me so we could get through it together by doing awkward 2020 TikTok dances like the renegade and cringey POVs. Again, all jokes aside, I have been getting used to the new grade. It’s been way harder academically and harder mentally with a lot of the new extracurriculars I’m participating in this year.
My sister is going off to college in May 2026 (check out my last blog after this!), so if you haven’t noticed already, I’ve been using a lot of years, numbers, and months in this post so far. I’m just not used to the fact that I’ll be in high school when she leaves. Who will take me to the mall and spend money on me when Mom doesn’t, and who is going to watch Modern Family with me and subjectively hate on Manny’s character?

Why is this show so addicting?
All my friends are going to new schools next year unfortunately, but I have one of my best friends staying with me. There are trips to go across the country starting from this year such as travelling to New Orleans, visiting New York, and seeing Washington DC. That seems fun to a normal person, but the best friend of mine who is staying in my school has MAJOR motion sickness, so I guess I’m going to have to get used to sitting next to my snoring teacher who takes up all the space on the plane.
Overall, this was just a quick summary of what being a teen in 2025 is. I have mood swings, yelling matches with my parents, crying sessions in my room, stressed crashing out because of school work, and more, but hopefully this post brightened your day with the funnier things about my life this year. Thanks for reading, and if you liked this post, read the next one! (or comment on what you’re going to be for Halloween!)

It’s officially spooky season!
